Genome Assembly and Annotation Workshop
Two-day training | 08:00 – 17:00 PHT
This two-day workshop focuses on identifying and addressing gaps in genome assembly and annotation skills using the Galaxy platform. Through hands-on exercises with real-world data, participants will apply assembly and annotation workflows while highlighting challenges in parameter selection, workflow design, and result interpretation. Outputs from the workshop will inform future training and capacity-building efforts.
Target Audience
This workshop is designed for researchers and scientists involved in genomics who seek to strengthen their skills in genome assembly and annotation using Galaxy. It is particularly suited for participants with basic familiarity in sequence data who want to improve their understanding of assembly strategies, workflow design, and result interpretation.
Participants are required to bring their personal laptops for all hands-on and interactive sessions.

This workshop is organized by the CGIAR Breeding and Research Services (BRS) team, which provides capacity building and training on bioinformatics skills, in partnership with the University of the Philippines Los Baños - Philippine Genome Center (UPLB-PGC) and the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice).
